"Experimental science is one of the most unlikely products of history. Magicians, priests, warriors, and shepherds have swarmed everywhere at will. But this fauna of experimental man requires, as it seems, a set of conditions more unusual to produce than those that engender the unicorn."
I'd love to have a French version, but we haven't been able to find a publisher there yet––apparently the market there isn't huge for nonfiction in translation. Could still happen though!
Kudos on the book! And tangentially, thanks for the link to the The Public Domain Review, which turned out to be a website I didn't know I was looking for.
Here in Brazil, it's only available in e-book format. Since you said you made the book to be read on paper, should I wait until the print edition is available?
Most of the functions will still be there in the e-book version, but there are a few things that only work with paper. We have a publisher in Brazil so physical copies should arrive there too, but probably a bit delayed so they have time to do the translation.
The US cover looks so much better. Maybe the UK cover could have worked, but the execution looks like it was made in Powerpoint using free images from the internet.
Definitely also prefer the US cover. The UK one looks optimized for standing out in a lineup on a webpage of "thumbnails of stuff the algorithm is recommending for you".

So exciting, but why not in French ?

Stupid French, too proud ;))
May be "un mal pour un bien" as your idiomatic style is probably better in the native version !
Excited! All the best Adam 🌻
So cool!

You got me. Looks like it will arrive right before tax day (US)
Oh, this looks FUN!
Looks fascinating, very curious to read this one! Pre-ordered on amazon.es to avoid surcharges.
Awesome - can’t wait!
Pre-ordered to UK, (although I prefer the US cover 😆) Excited to read it!
Will there be an opportunity to obtain a signed copy?
Possibly––still figuring it out!
Awesome, Adam!!! I'm psyched to read it!

No pre-order Canada? (Choosing to not think you’re picking sides.)
Ha, I forgot this is a political statement now! The US links should redirect to the Canada outlets if you click from a Canadian IP address, and I've updated the button to make it clear. If it doesn't work, here's a direct link: https://www.amazon.ca/Strangest-Idea-World-Shortcut-Future/dp/059380029X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=31EGBW7JNV93A&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CNGl_iLEFPV5_CJ0bVCiaVD5VD8SaFK4nbGAhlul4Nds7olRpyCDuw5RHSK2F-zfzlr9FfBayGI_qsISI2InrA.zwtvAXEkj7KBMed6xLwM7p3MfFaYZcaWULYZjp49z24&dib_tag=se&keywords=the+strangest+idea+in+the+world&qid=1790696268&sprefix=the+strangest+idea+in+the+world%2Caps%2C122&sr=8-1

I agree.
This does look really interesting. I’m in!
