Hey, I’m a fan of your writing! I’m going to read this later.

While I'm sure Uri Bram has interesting commentary to add on the chimp-and-pig hybrid hypothesis, it'd be nice to directly cite the originator at http://www.macroevolution.net/. His name is Dr. Eugene McCarthy, with a PhD at the University of Georgia in Genetics, taught for a few years in the early aughts, and wrote a book on avian hybridization.

The whole website has fun food for thought, and is indeed great at "expanding your horizons" even if you ultimately reject his hypothesis.

(FWIW Uri does indeed mention the original URL).

I have only recently come across Experimental History and it certainly doesn't disappoint: wide ranging, quirky but with enough gravitas to hold any reasonable, enquiring mind to come back for more!

Not sure why Breen considers us no closer to "The Emulating of Fish without Engines by Custome and Education only" than we were in Boyle’s time. To be honest, I'm not sure what Boyle is getting at but there several algorithms based on emulating fish movements (e.g. particle swarm optimization, fish school search algorithm, etc.).
